WILD GREEN ENERGY FOR YOUR BODY AND SOUL

Image
Now is the time at the Northern Hemisphere when the nature is flourishing bright green and this is the time when we can also fully enjoy the nature's bounty. I think that green drinks are a great way to kick-start a new day and also many yogic scriptures encourage people to enjoy green juices and smoothies. Right now you can also add some real wild green energy to your body by simply collecting the commonly so annoying garden weeds like stinging nettle and dandelion from your own garden or some clean place near your home. Actually these weeds can be very beneficial for the human body. Nettle leafs contain high levels of protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, beta-carotene and high amounts of the vitamins A, C, D, and B complex. Nettle is an excellent dietary supplement because it has rich, diverse and balanced range of nutrients that are essential to the human body. Actually if you don't get some important nutrient enough through your normal dietary

SUNNY DAYS AND YOGA AT CANARY ISLANDS PART II

Hola a todos! This is the second part of our holidays in Canary Islands. Again I will let the pictures speak their language. It was just amazing to be able to escape the winter in Finland to these beautiful islands for 5 weeks full of sunshine and warmth. I loved to practice yoga by the swimming-pool of our bungalow.    Parivrtta Trikonasana  My favorite part of the breakfast was freshly squeezed orange juice  We stayed one week in these bungalows behind me. It was wonderful to have a little garden of our own and the swimming-pool in our use.  Hugging trees at Puerto Rico, we went there to spend a day at the beach. Me and our baby at the dunes - she had her nap in her Manduca baby carrier while I had a nice walk along the shore.   It seemed as we were in Sahara desert at the dunes. Eka pada rajakapotasana You can see beautiful Bougainvillea around the islands   "

SUNNY DAYS AND YOGA AT CANARY ISLANDS PART I

Saludos desde las Islas Canarias! Greetings to everyone from the Canary Islands! In this post I let the pictures speak for themselves. It has been wonderful to escape the winter in Finland to these beautiful islands with my family. First we stayed in Las Palmas, close to the Playa de las Canteras. The North end of the beach Playa de las Canteras was for surfers. There was nice, relaxed athmosphere at that end of the beach and some cool restaurants to have some tapas and coffee.  The weather there was a bit cloudy during few days of our one week stay in Las Palmas.   So we went to Maspalomas beach at the south of the island and the weather there was so warm and sunny. It felt great to do my yoga practice at the beach. One day we went to see the old town of Las Palmas. One day we spent in sunny Puerto Rico at the swimming pool where my cousin was staying with her family. We went to Puerto de Mogan for late lunch, that was a lovely and peaceful sm

THE SECRET TO BOOSTING ENERGY DURING DARK WINTER MONTHS

I started to feel really tired towards the end of the Nowember while I felt that I ate too much greasy and sweet food. I felt that even a cup of coffee didn't help and although I was still taking my green smoothie almost every morning it was not giving me the energy boost it usually does. Then I got Sarah Cadji's book Pure:Juicing for life as a gift from my man and there was the answer - juicing veggies. I got really excited after glancing the book. I have been juicing before but somehow I was more enthusiastic about smoothies than juicing. Maybe because it is so difficult to wash the juicer as it consists from so many parts and I also didn't know many juice recipes before. I went to the supermarket to buy some vegetables and fruits and the next day I started with green breakfast juice. I could feel the difference immediately, it worked better than a double espresso, I felt that I was full of energy, I was awake and ready for the day ahead.         I fe
